The Mini DV arrived from Shanghai, China five days after I ordered it. I glanced thru the manual and started testing it right away. All I had to do was insert the micro SD chip, turn on the power, and hit the record button. (The battery was already charged.) I recorded in low light and in bright sunshine. It handled it all very well, both in our dark woods and in the bright sunshine in the front yard. My narration during the tour of our property sounded excellent, and Charlie's barking recorded well too. There was a faint fluttering noise like watching an 8mm movie from the old days. I also clipped it to the passenger visor in my pickup truck and went on my errands. Very good quality and field of view. Like the best daytime quality you see on COPS. A 20 minute drive created a 498MB AVI file that played in Windows Media Player. I'm very happy with it. -- very good for the money spent

Don't order this device if you don't have a PC and plan to use it in the US. While it comes with a charger, it's not for use in the US. You'd have to buy a converter adaptor to plug it in here or charge it via the USB port on your PC. The included software is PC/Windows only, no MAC version. -- Cute... But !
